Hello, I’m Linda
I’m a couch potato turned peak bagger… and recently, back to couch again.
I was a lifelong sedentary city dweller until I caught the hiking bug in 2015. A year later, I went on my first backpacking trip in Sequoia National Park and spent the next few years chasing big summit days and adventure trips.
Then life shifted. During the pandemic years I fell out of my routines, gained weight, and discovered it’s a lot harder to bounce back in my 40s. Trails that used to feel easy suddenly felt out of reach.
This blog is my way of getting honest with myself and gently getting back into hiking shape — by becoming more active, spending more time outdoors, and building sustainable habits for a changing body.
Follow My Journey
I’m embarking on a year long fitness and wellness journey as I attempt to get back to my peak bagging shape. As a woman over 40, I realized that it was getting harder to get back in shape once I stopped making my health a priority. That’s why I started this project as a way to give myself extra motivation to accomplish my goal.
Here you’ll find:
- Destination ideas and trip reports
- Training hikes to build back fitness safely
- Simple, healthy recipes to fuel long days on the trail
Are you also on a fitness and wellness journey? Or perhaps you feel that your current health is standing in the way of your enjoyment of outdoor adventures? This community is for you.
If you’re also ready to go from “I should hike more” to “I actually do,” you’re in the right place.
